How to play
footydraft is a free football draft simulator you play in the browser: an online soccer draft game where two managers draft a squad head to head in real time.
1. Start a draft
Press Start your draft and choose 1v1 to play a friend, or Versus bot to practise. In 1v1 you get a short room code to share; your friend joins with it in their browser. No download or account needed.
2. The Club Draw
Every game draws five clubs at random. Only players from those clubs appear in the draft, so no two games use the same player pool. Icons and Founding Fathers can also be drawn, but less often.
3. Coin toss
A coin toss decides who picks first. After that, the two managers take turns.
4. Five draft rounds
You build a five-man squad: one goalkeeper, two defenders, one midfielder and one attacker. Each round shows a pool of player cards and you pick one. The pick clock is 10 seconds in round one and grows by 2 seconds each round, up to 18 seconds. If time runs out, the lowest-rated card that still fits your squad is picked for you.
5. Club synergy
Drafting players from the same club earns bonus points: 2 from one club gives +1, 3 gives +3, 4 gives +5 and all 5 gives +7. Your total is your squad's average rating plus the synergy bonus.
6. The match
The two squads play a short simulated match with live commentary. The higher total wins. If the score is level after 90 minutes, a penalty shootout decides it. Exactly equal totals are a draw.
